Soup Kitchen in Waukegan

COR teens serve a community meal at Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan. Teens help prepare a meal in the kitchen, serve dinner to community members who come, and then help clean the kitchen afterwards. Please RSVP to Terese if you or your family can come!

Our Upcoming Dates in 2019: March 24th, May 26th, June 23rd, July 28th

Camp Hope Carnival

Every summer COR hosts a carnival or game for Camp Hope. Camp Hope is a one-week summer camp for teens and young adults who face developmental disabilities. Rising and graduated seniors are encouraged to consider serving as a “buddy” throughout a week of camp. All other teens are welcome to join COR as we host a carnival or game on the last Friday of camp. This Summer, Friday July 27th 2018.

 Christmas Sharing Tree

Around Thanksgiving, COR teens are asked to help “adopt” 5 families for Christmas. Teens are invited to sign up to provide a gift for one child and are given the child’s wish list. One of December’s COR meetings will be spent bringing in gifts, wrapping them up and preparing them to be delivered to the families.

 Feed My Starving Children

Periodically, COR will take a group of teens to FMSC in Libertyville. FMSC is a national organization that works to package nutritious meals, which are then sent to children and families all around the world. As part of this service, teens would be working hands-on to package meals and end world hunger.

Chicago March for Life

Every January there is a Chicago March for Life downtown at the Federal Plaza. COR youth ministry takes a bus with the parish downtown and then attends the rally and march! This is a fun opportunity to stand up for our most marginalized brothers and sisters in Christ!
